Year of Industrial Culture 2007
Year of Industrial Culture 2007 will function as a communicative and administrative framework, within which the Danish museums and other partners working on the history of industrial society can contribute to a coordinated museal effort.
Year of Industrial Culture 2007 seeks to increase the visibility and awareness of the Danish industrial-cultural heritage by:
- Coordinating activities throughout the country within a particular timeframe
- Increasing the number of museal ventures in the project period
- Coordinating the information and marketing of these museal ventures.
Industrial Culture 2007 will initiate and finance a number of nationwide activities itself. But the prime objective of the project Industrial Culture 2007 is to coordinate activities and projects of Danish museums, universities, archives, industries (companies), and other contributors. Therefore, the majority of the activities marking Year of Industrial Culture 2007 will be planned, executed, and financed by local and regional institutions.
The marketing will feature a branded profile that makes all local ventures recognizable as a part of the collective initiative. The activities will be marketed collectively through a printed catalogue and a website.
The National Museum of Denmark is the host of the secretary of the Year of Industrial Culture 2007. Questions related to the Year of Culture 2007 should be directed to:
