Seven Museums: One European Project
Migration, Work and Identity is a three-year collaboration between seven members of WORKLAB: the International Association of Labour Museums. The purpose of the project is to contribute to the European debate on cultural diversity with the expectation that greater knowledge of the different migrant communities within Europe will improve understanding and tolerance. Each museum will run a programme of research, exhibitions and educational events. The museums will share their work with each other and so develop a European perspective on the theme of migration and identity. The collaborative work of the project will be disseminated by means of
· A travelling exhibition (organised by the Museum Arbeitswelt in Steyr, Austria)
· Education programmes for children and adults
· A web-site: www.migration-identity.org (managed by the Museum of Work in
